Founded in 2008 by a collective of musicians
and music lovers, Midwest Music Foundation
(MMF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) created to
promote and support music and musicians in
Kansas City and the surrounding areas.
We, as a city, are stronger with music, with
people creating it, performing it, and recording
it. All sorts, all types, from Jazz to Rock-n-Roll,
Country to Classical, Hip-Hop to Experimental.
We become a richer community connecting
exceptional practitioners of the craft with new
audiences as well as the next generation of
players.
The Midwest is a crossroads of musical
histories and Kansas City has stood at its
center as an internationally recognized beacon
of musical innovation. But we are not only our
legacy. That spark continues in the artists living
and working today, in this moment. The MMF
intends to offer support to those people creating,
writing, recording, and producing music in
all genres. |
